According to Vedic Astrology, Rahu – the north shadow node of the Moon – began a transit through the sign of Aries in April 2022, and will remain in this sign until November 2023. This brings unique focus to the element of fire that is held within the sign of Aries. The transit of Rahu to Aries stirs up the agni tattva on many levels, and provides the opportunity to work with the element of fire as a spiritual practice, as well as honor the healing light of the Sun, representative of the inner light of the Self.
Fire ceremonies, agnihotra practices, havans, and even the lighting of an oil lamp, are considered to be beneficial practices, especially during this transit.
शुभं करोति कल्याणमारोग्यं धनसंपदा ।
शत्रुबुद्धिविनाशाय दीपज्योतिर्नमोऽस्तुते ॥
śhubhaṃ karoti kalyāṇam ārogyaṃ dhanasaṃpadā .
śhatrubuddhi vināśhāya dīpajyotir namostute
Meaning:
The grantor of auspices, welfare, health, wealth and prosperity, salutation to the fire that burns as a flame, may the illumination of this light destroy any intent of enmity and conflict that prevails within and around me.
Rahu transiting through Aries also represents a quickening of thought, and the desire to manifest right away. When you start something new during this time, it would be wise to remember that a sapling requires time and constant nurturing to grow and flourish. What you begin will demand patience from you. Offer these beginnings with the fullness of your heart, and be patient with the results.
It is also important to also be aware of the negative aspects of an unpredictable fire element that could manifest as impulsive behaviours, sudden outbursts of emotion (especially anger), and cause a pull towards the extremes of life experience. It would be wise to acknowledge the power of thought, word and action, and their impact upon other beings. Restraint on a personal level is advised during this time.
