On April 22, 2023, Jupiter moved in to the sign of Aries, entering ‘Ashwini Nakshatra’ – the lunar sign with the Shakti (power) to heal and ‘reach places quickly’. Jupiter’s transit through Aries occurs until April 2024.

Jupiter’s conjunction with Rahu in the sign of Aries brings optimism, clarity and some direction to matters that may have, since the past 8 months, caused overwhelming life events, a scattering of personal energies in to various areas, or even the absence of grounding & stability in particular areas of life. Jupiter as the planet of wisdom & growth brings an expansion of ideas, as well as connects us with the information and knowledge we need to feel secure and proceed wisely on our path.

This transit of Jupiter can bring varying results depending on where the sign of Aries is located in your birth chart. For example, if it is in your 6th house, this could have connections to health matters as well as the service you offer the world through your karma (work) and gifted talents.

The zodiac signs of Aries & Leo get especially activated this year, since both are being influenced by Jupiter, Rahu & Saturn.

If you are on the cusp of a new beginning, or even if you recognise the need for some momentum on your journey forward in some area of life, this is a special time to ask for guidance from the Guru (Sanskrit name for Jupiter), whose light is seen within the spiritual Guru or Teacher, as well as the ‘Guru principle’ that guides as the light within.

It is recommended that you take the time to seek guidance from those who are knowledgeable in the areas of work that you wish to grow your presence in, and draw from your inner reservoir of silent strength and wisdom as well.

Ashwini Nakshatra is sure to bring movement and some travel too, perhaps. Depending on the chart and placements within it, this can also indicate some restless times ahead where energy has the potential to be exhausted or drained away. Perhaps best to watch for impulses towards excess, and  utilise this time to inspire the change you have been seeking to draw in to some part of your life.

In Vedic Astrology, Jupiter is referred to as the ‘Guru’. The coming months are an especially auspicious time to honour the light of the Guru through invocation and heartfelt service.
