The ceremonial observance of the passage of time brings focus to major milestones, both on a personal and collective level. The collective marking of time allows us opportunities to pause and gather drops of insight from the waters of wisdom that flow fervently as the streams of eternal time.

Every moment of time can be experienced as a new beginning, and yet there is great power that manifests from the energy of collective intention. Historically, the commencement of the new year has been observed at different times, as measured by either the solar or lunar calendars.

In 2023, we will see some major planetary transits and movements, as noted by the systems of Vedic Astrology, beginning with the transit of Saturn to its own sign of Aquarius, ending a two and a half year cycle of time.

Mars and Jupiter as well, will shift placements within the first four months of the year, bringing focus to qualities of motivation, will-power, optimism, and inner strength, as well as matters of work and finance.

The outer planetary movements in the skies each year relate closely to the placement of planets in an individual’s birth chart, especially when the actual planetary trajectories touch the natal planets in the birth chart, activating events, experiences, insights and evolutionary cycles during the year. We are each on a seeker’s journey, and there is much support to be gained from the messages that the heavens hold for us.

If you would like to know more about the unfoldment of planetary transits during the year as they apply to your unique birth chart, an in-depth Vedic Astrology reading can be a rewarding experience.
